"I’m really impressed with JJ’s Jigs! I caught so many fish with your jigs.  Don’t think I won’t tell others." -- Roger Collinski

 Hi JJ’s!!
Just wanted you to know that I fished a tournament on Lake Wallenpaupack Saturday [June. 2009]. I was able to upgrade our fish and came in 2nd place. I used your 5/16th Black Booger Jig.  I caught two over the slot fish before the bite shut down. I will be placing more orders for your jigs in the future, especially the Black and Olive Booger in 5/16. Now all you need to do is to tell me what works best at Beltzville Lake. --Thanks, G. Kelley

Mr. Kelly, thanks for the kind words. For Beltzville Lake try the 3/16 oz. White "Electric" Jig or the Baby Bass Brown.  Also try the Purple Iris in 1/4 oz. - Dave

"The jigs are great in appearance.  Your jigs seem like a quality product." - Brett Sarnoski

Received my order today. Wow! I can’t believe I actually used to tie my own flies and buy my own flyfishing leaders.  Your workmanship on the flies are wonderful. Your fly leaders are so much better than what I can buy at my flyshop.  I will definitely pass your business info on to my fly fishing friends. -- Mike Carpenter

Hi, Received the order yesterday, as usual the flies are great... They are really tied very well. Took them to work to show my fly-buddies. They were amazed at the detail and how fast they arrived. I gave out all the cards you sent, and they started looking at your website immediately.  I am very satisfied, the competitors don’t stand a chance. I have sent your site to about 8 fellow fly-fisherman, other than at work. I made up my mind and will buy strictly from "JJ’s Jigs" from now on.  Thanks again! Tight lines. -- Gregory Kantor

Dear Dave at JJ’s Jigs,

I purchased some hair jigs from you, and would like to say they are awesome! I cannot believe how well they work on the smallmouth I fish for in Western NY.  I have tried a lot of different jigs, and none work as well as the ones you make. Since using the jigs, my partner and I have consistently placed higher in the Lake Erie tournaments we fish, and it has become my go-to bait. The quality of fish I catch is considerably better, I have out fished my partner 10 to 1 out of the back of his boat using one of your hair jigs when he was using a different brand. I am also pleased how quickly I received your product, from the time I placed the order to the time I received them was amazing! So I would like to say thank you for making a quality product at an affordable price! - Gary Smith/Panama, NY

I have been using Dave’s [JJ’s Jigs]  jigs for 6 months now...3 things come to mind immediately...Quality, Craftsmanship, and Customer Service. They hold up very well to the abuse of fishing in timber or around structure and the colored heads are virtually chip proof. Dave uses only the highest quality material in putting together his jigs and takes pride in his work (unlike many of the mass produced jigs you see on the market today). As for customer service....second to none! Dave will go out of his way to build the jig that you want...colors, materials, sizes, you name it... and at very reasonable and competitive prices. - Thomas Underwood, Hazelton, PA

I am an avid fisherman of lakes, ponds, streams and the wonderful Susquahanna River.  Until recently, I thought I had everything I needed to get the tug going.  Jigs, Lures, Fly’s etc.  Mostly store bought, a few homemade.  It wasn’t until I started to use JJ’s Jigs that I really had some success.  In particular for me are the Walleye Zonker, Black Booger, Baby Bass Booger, Sculpin and Daredevil Zonkers and the Deep Diving Frog Jig.  The Walleye Zonker was given to me by the owner for a trial run.  I went out to a hole I knew that had a fair amount of Walleye running through and gave my arsenal a try.  I got a few taps here and there, and even caught one on a lure.  Then I switched to the Walleye Zonker and I landed four Walleye in an hour.  It was like I dropped fish candy down there and it was Halloween. Next I tried the Baby Bass Booger.  I was in an area where a top water lure was getting some action, but I wanted to try this jig out so I tied it on and threw it out there.  My first cast brought me a nice smallmouth bass.  The same for the next few casts as well.  I caught about 20 bass in an hour on this jig. The Deep Diving Frog was given to me by the owner during initial testing to try out and make suggestions.  This thing looks nasty, but drop it in the water and test it.  I ran it through a pool to see the best presentation for it before I tossed it into muddy waters at a local lake.  What a beauty.  It looks like a frog taking a nice dive.  I have caught many different species of fish on this jig alone.  It is perhaps one of my sentimental favorites. Last year I took up Fly Fishing.  I learned how to tie flies and how to check the environment to see which flies should work.  I am no master at tying flies, but JJ’s Jigs are for sure.  No nasty flies from some sweatshop overseas.  These are all hand made with care, and are at an excellent price as well.  The Minnow & Crayfish flies all are so beautiful you almost don’t want to throw them in the water, but thats when they really shine. I have purchased every jig and fly from JJ’s Jigs in the past 6 months and have had better fishing because of it.  Now I sport a JJ’s Jigs Angler patch on my fishing vest out of pride for these products. Give them a try, you will NOT be disappointed.  ------ Seth "gotthenet" Hazen, Waverly, New York

Over the summer, I was fly fishing on the St.Lawrence river using various types of baitfish fly patterns. The fishing action was slow, I decided to mix things up a little bit, and tied on a JJ’s jigs crayfish pattern to my leader. The action was on once that change occured. On every other cast I had a smallie on the end of my line. Numerous hits and landings. That fly holds a designated spot in my bass fly box and always will be a part of my go to arsenal. Anyone that has one of these flies has a huge advantage. Great variation in color schemes and nice action in the fly. --- Matt "mattflyguy" Collins, Elmira, NY

  Hi Dave,

Just got back Sunday from Eagle lake (In Northern California). The weather was cold and the fishing was good. I went with some friends who had a boat and we trolled. The lake is a pretty shallow lake so I couldn’t use the jigs all the time but when I did they worked as good or better than anything else that was in the water. Black was woking but also the brown did well. I would use the 3/32 if we were in 5’ or deeper and inside of that I used a non weighted fly. The fish were 2-4lbs but I did get a 5.3lb on the black mad tom Jig. I really would liked to have did some drift fishing with the jigs but not my boat and I was thankfull to just be there. Next trip hopefully I will get a chance to try that. But while trolling slow (1.2mph) I would slowly jig it. They looked great in the water. I’m going to check the steelhead jigs after I finish up here. I’m going to try and send a picture with this but I haven’t sent a lot of pictures so if you don’t get it please email me and I’ll try again. Thanks again Dave for a great jig and I hope to keep in touch with more fishing reports in the future. Later, Jon Selbicky.

Jon, Glad to know that JJ’s works well on the West Coast trout too! - Dave

Dear JJ’s Jigs,
I’ve been a professional guide now for thirty years and have used many different brands of hair jigs including those made by myself. I’ve totally switched to JJ’s Hair Jigs during the past year because they are the best made and have produced more cold water fish than any others I’ve tried, including those made by myself.  The quality is fantastic! I’ve never seen a bass or walleye jig made with the precision of a trout fly and it shows in my catch numbers. On my boat they out produce plastics in cold water 3 to 1. In warm water they work as good as any plastic on the market. Even though I have caught fish on every pattern that you’ve made, I would highly recommend that all fishermen should at least have the black and the Baby Bass brown Woolybugger in their tackle box. And when the clear water time comes it’s hard to beat your Crayfish and Hellgrammite patterns along with the olive color Woolybugger.

Keep up the excellent work and save some for me.
Good Fishing,
Lance Dunham
L.D. Guide Service

Thank you for the kind words Lance.  I’m glad that my jigs can help you have a productive day on the water with your clients. Don’t worry, I’ll always have a few jigs saved for you! - Dave

Dave,

Man, you are something else!!! The order arrived today. I’m not sure I’m going to fish with the crawfish and helgrammite. I think I’m going to get a wooden stand with a glass globe and display these in my living room! They are absolutely awesome! You are very talented Dave. The booger jig looks just as good but that thing is getting wet Saturday! The hooks are so sharp they’ll stick you just looking at ’em.

I can’t thank you enough for the flies. You said a few. A few down here is 4-6. I like PA few.....2 dozen!! Again, thank you very much. Your info magnet is on the fridge!

Got the fly rod set up this afternoon. I cleaned it up (cob webs), new line, new leader, and I saved some of the thin end of the old leader for a 2’ tippet. Headed to the river tommorrow for a week of smallie fishing. I’ll let you know how things go....

Again thank you. I couldn’t be any more satisfied or happier with your work.
John Hash, Powhatan, VA

My pleasure John,  Welcome to the wonderful world of flyfishing!  I’m glad you like the flies and jigs!  But please fish with them!  They are meant to be used -but I’m flattered that you want to display them! - Dave

Hey Dave,
Just got back from the first day using your jigs. I tried the Pumpkin Grubber first. Slow bite, I had a few grabs and missed them. Then I decided to tie on the Mrs. Simpson, I WAS ON!!! I had almost non-stop action the rest of the afternoon with that one jig! I never even tried anything else from that point forward. I caught a total of 13 smallies over 15” and one over 18”. Not only that, but the other guys in my boat watched me do this and will be placing an order I'm sure, and two friends in another boat were watching and will also be getting some JJ’s Jigs I'm sure.
Thanks a Ton,
Greg Bacorn

Good Afternoon Dave,

Thank you so much for the great customer service. I called about the crushed River King and you sent a replacement right away, plus you new Polamalu jig. I was not expecting this at all. You do not see this type of service to often so kudos on that. I can not wait till we get a warm up here in Virginia to be able to use them and send some pictures your way. There is a creek that I fish quite a bit, so I'll be trying them out there. I have had luck with plastic Hellgrammite's so I am sure I'll have a big chance to catch them on you Hellgrammite jig, which by the way looks great.

Thanks again,
Johnny Paz

Dave,
"That fly (A Purple Bolivian Chickenbat) was the cats' ass. Ever caught a channel cat on one? I CAUGHT THREE ON IT, and two smallmouth bass. Channel cat in extremely swift water... I was shocked, but it happened three times. What the hell do you do to your flies that make them last? I caught four fish with it and it was still in great shape. I usually get one, maybe two fish our of a fly.

It was a hell of a night on the river for me, my pal (Josh), also my sisters boyfriend, wasn't as lucky. Must have been the Bolivian Chickenbat fly."
   - Brian Ferguson, Ridgebury, PA

Brian,
Thanks for letting me know how the Bolivian Chickenbat worked for you.  My flies last because I use quality materials and since I'm a flyangler as well, I know how much cash one spends when buying flies.  I make my products to last not just a half dozen fish, but double digit amounts of fish.  You get your monies worth when you purchase and use JJ's Jigs and Flies.  -  Dave

I stumbled across your website and was absolutely SHOCKED by your business. I don't think I'll spend another penny at Gander Mtn, Cabelas, etc. ever again!!!! The quality, price, selection is outstanding.  By the way, the North Branch Clouser looks absolutely deadly.  - Mike Brown, Scranton, PA

Dave, I got my JJ's Jigs in the mail ...WOW ... fantastic colors " pumpkinseed sunfish" ! top quality workmanship ... so nice that I just want to hang one on the wall - Doug Knepp, Landisville, PA

Doug,  I'm so pleased (and relieved) that you like them! I've only made shad patterns with those styles of jig hooks, so your "Amazon" pumpkinseeds are one of a kind!! (LOL... someday it will be a collectors item!). - Dave

An email received on 10/17/11 from customer Michael Brown:

Dave - You are a genius! The jigs came on Saturday! I was like a kid on Christmas............just couldn't wait to open up the package! First and foremost, the quality is impressive. You obviously out a lot of time and effort into tying these..........the detail and quality is very apparent. That being said, without even making a cast, you had already won me over. I won't be spending another dime on those abominations they call "jigs" that are sold at Gander Mtn. and are tied by 5 year olds in Haiti. You've just won over a lifelong customer. Anyways........onto the fishing!

I was trying hard to save your jigs for a trip to river..........but since it hasn't rained this much since Noah's Ark..............I just couldn't help myself. And because I'm idiot (see:fisherman)..............I decided to go fishing Saturday afternoon. You know............perfect fishing conditions...............post-frontal.................cold, rainy, 35+mph winds...............just the making of a perfect trip I decided to hit up a local Water Company reservoir for shits and giggles.............I just couldn't help myself from trying out my new toys. The reservoir is loaded with big pickerel, bass (largemouth), slammer perch and calicos. But it's deep and rocky with very little weed growth. So, for the first hour I threw everything I had, X-raps, husky jerks, plastic grubs....................even the tried and true Senko fished slow produced nothing. I thought, why not?  I tied on the Arkansas Bucktail...............and this is no lie................1st cast............12 inch bass. I had to pick my jaw up off the ground!  Three casts later................15 inch bass. Unbelievable. 10 minutes later...............22 inch pickeral..............and finished the day out with another small bass. I was convinced I has stumbled upon fishing's fountain of youth!!!

Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I was absolutely tickled pink by your lures. They look awesome and most importantly, they produced when NOTHING ELSE WOULD....................in awful conditions.............certainly a difficult test. I ended the day with four fish...................on a day when I should not have caught anything at all. The movement of the jig underwater is simply amazing. Unfortunately, the rocks got the best of my bucktail.

You make an amazing product.........I have to go the bed.............long day ahead of me tomorrow. Make no mistake, you've found yourself a lifelong customer. Whatever it is that you're doing.................keep doing it. Can't wait to pick up some more jigs. I'll tell the girlfriend that a gift certificate would make a great Christmas gift. Thanks for making such a great product with such quality and attention to detail. That's something that's rare these days. Good Luck.  Hope to hear from you soon.  Mike Brown, Scranton, PA.

Thank you for the kind words Mike.  I truly appreciate the feedback on my jigs.  To know you had a productive day on the water with my jigs pleases me greatly!! - Dave
